Where are you from, and how has your background influenced your music?
“I moved around a lot as a kid from Avenue A to Ridgewood, but I mostly grew up in Queens, on 162nd Street in Flushing. That area, the people, and the culture were a huge part of shaping who I am and the music I make. My sound is grounded in the realness of Queens; I try to bring that energy and honesty with everything I create.”
What got you into music?
“It was my mother, to be honest. She was friends with Dj’s like “Sleepy da barber, Camilo , Infurious” they would give her compilation CD’s of all the new Hip Hop and R&B tracks that just dropped that month, and would play them in her car picking me up from school. She was into a lot of reggae like “t.o.k” “Collie Buddz” “Barrington levy” that opened my ears to different melodies and flows. My uncles also had a huge influence on me, always playing salsa at my grandma’s crib I actually wrote my first rap when I was eight, and from then on, I was hooked. Hip-hop became part of who I am.”
What inspires you as an artist?
“I get inspired by watching ideas come to life. I’m always eager to see what type of song I’ll create each day; it’s like capturing a new energy every time. For me, the creative process is everything. I want each track to be like a chapter in my life, something that feels fresh and makes people connect.”
